  • Alan J Stocks, DVM, Owner

    Dr. Stocks received his DVM degree from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  He was accepted into the program after 3 years in the pre-vet program at the University of Arkansas.  Initially, he worked at a 24 hour practice after graduation and gained a lot of emergency experience.  Later, he worked at 2 sister clinics for over 8 years.  He was able to develop his surgical skills significantly during that period.   The next part of his career involved a brief stint of relief work before purchasing the Addison Animal Hospital in May 2005.

    Dr. Stocks is a member of the CVMA, ISVMA, AVMA, and AAHA.  In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, exercising, boating and fishing.  He is an avid sports fan and has coached little league baseball for over 10 years.

  • Jill

    Jill has been with us at the Addison Animal Hospital since 2005.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in Child Psychology at Illinois State University.  She has contributed in many ways to our clinic, including reception, technician and office duties.

    When not at work, Jill enjoys reading, soccer, and spending time with her husband and 3 kids.

  • Margaret - Office Manager

    Margaret has been working as part of our loving, caring, and compassionate staff for over 11 years.  She worked for 5 years with the previous owner and stayed on board when the current owner, Dr. Stocks, acquired the practice.

    She is a single mom of 2 wonderful boys, Owen and Luke.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, writing, and spending time with her kids. With her menagerie of pets at home, there is never a dull moment.  She has always enjoyed working with and taking care of animals.  She hopes to continue doing what she loves for many years to come.

  • Jorge - Senior Veterinary Technician

    Jorge has worked full-time with us as a veterinary technician since 2007.  He initially gained experience in the veterinary field by working at the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago in 1992.  After that, he used his talents at the Blum Animal Hospital, also in Chicago, for 10 years.  He is fluent in Spanish and English.

    In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his puppies, Alex and Joey. A fond lover of nature and wildlife, he can be found with his buddy at the dog park, or fishing, or camping.  He has saved many squirrels, geese, snakes, rabbits, frogs and owls and brought them to the Wildlife Center for rehabilitation.

  • Claudia - Receptionist

    Claudia has been part of our wonderful team since May 2014. She graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she received her Bachelor Degree in Animal Sciences. She plans on working with equine or companion animals now that she is finished.  She is fluent in Polish and English.

    In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at animal shelters, horseback riding, as well as traveling. Animals have been a passion of hers which has made her a great addition to our staff over the years.

  • Mirna - Receptionist

    Mirna joined our team in November 2014, as a receptionist. She previously worked at an animal hospital in Chicago for 5 years, before taking a break to stay at home with her children. In 2013 she decide to return to the veterinary field.

    Mirna emigrated to the United States from Guatemala in 1989 at the age of 11, becoming an American citizen in 2005. She has since gotten married to her husband Hector, and had 4 wonderful children, Valerie, Brandon, Kimberly, and Fernando. Being fluent in Spanish, as well as English, has made her an excellent asset to our company. In her spare time she likes to swim, read to her children, take her 2 yr old Pitt bull, King, for walks, as well as volunteer for her children's soccer team. She has always had a passion for animals and their care and hopes to continue to learn and grow in the veterinary field.

  • Marta - Receptionist

    Marta joined our team in March of 2015 as a receptionist. She had recently finished the Veterinary Assistant Certification at Harper College as well as her internship at Wheatland Animal Hospital. The love for animals has always been her passion. She owns two dogs, Diana a 6 year old Rat Terrier and Blue a 1 year old Labrador/Alaskan Husky Mix.
    Marta emigrated to the United States from Poland in 2000, at the age of 12, becoming an American citizen in 2013. She is fluent in Polish as well as English, making her an excellent addition to our caring staff. She enjoys spending time with her two year old daughter, Kylie, and her husband, Matt. Bike riding with her daughter is one of her favorite things to do during the warm months. She also enjoys watching basketball, hiking, and visiting new places. She plans to continue working in the veterinary field for years to come.

  • Stephanie - Veterinary Assistant

    Stephanie joined our staff in August 2015. She achieved her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 2006. In the years to follow she gained experience as a veterinary technician working for such clinics as Old Towne Animal Hospital and Hanover Park Animal Clinic. In her travels she worked 5.5 years at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky. She worked for 6 years as an animal control officer for Metro Animal Services in Louisville, Kentucky. She also has 6 months previous experience as a surgery technician for Hillcrest Animal Clinic in Rockford.   

    She acquired Lily, her dachshund/yorkshire terrier mix in 2009 from a breeder, due to the love of that specific mix of dog. In her spare time she enjoys taking Lily for walks, exercising, cooking as well as reading. She has a deep passion for horses, including an interest in horse racing, breeding and medical treatment.

  • Magdalena - Veterinary Assistant

    Magdalena joined the Addison Animal Hospital staff in August 2015 as a veterinary assistant. After graduating from Addison Trail High School in June 2011, she went on to attend the First Institute of Training and Management, where she received her certificate as a medical office assistant in September 2011. Her love for animals has lead her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She looks forward to learning and expanding her knowledge in the veterinary field. 

    In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with the U.S. veterans and at local homeless shelters. She also likes to hike, fish, and run. She is a great cheerleader for her 5 nieces and nephews at their football and baseball games.
