  • Alan J Stocks, DVM, Owner

    Dr. Stocks received his DVM degree from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  He was accepted into the program after 3 years in the pre-vet program at the University of Arkansas.  Initially, he worked at a 24 hour practice after graduation and gained a lot of emergency experience.  Later, he worked at 2 sister clinics for over 8 years.  He was able to develop his surgical skills significantly during that period.   The next part of his career involved a brief stint of relief work before purchasing the Addison Animal Hospital in May 2005.

    Dr. Stocks is a member of the CVMA, ISVMA, AVMA, and AAHA.  He is an avid sports fan.  In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, exercising, boating and fishing.

  • Jill - Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

    Jill has been with us at the Addison Animal Hospital since 2005.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in Child Psychology at Illinois State University and worked for many years at Lutherbrook Children's Center as a child care worker and a case worker. She has contributed in many ways to our clinic, including reception, technician and other office duties.

    In 2011, Jill helped found The Unity in Community, and continues to serve as a board member as well as organizing charity events and fundraisers. She also enjoys reading, soccer, and spending time with her husband and 3 kids.

  • Margaret - Office Manager

    Margaret has been working as part of our loving, caring, and compassionate staff for over 14 years.  She worked for 5 years with the previous owner and stayed on board when the current owner, Dr. Stocks, acquired the practice.

    She is currently attending Harper College and working towards her Bachelors Degree in Business Management. She is a single mom of 2 wonderful boys, Owen and Luke. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, writing, and spending time with her kids. With her menagerie of pets at home, there is never a dull moment.  She has always enjoyed working with and taking care of animals.  She hopes to continue doing what she loves for many years to come.

    Jorge - Senior Veterinary Technician

    Jorge has worked full-time with us as a veterinary technician since 2007.  He initially gained experience in the veterinary field by working at the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago in 1992.  After that, he used his talents at the Blum Animal Hospital, also in Chicago, for 10 years.  He is fluent in Spanish and English.

    When he is not at the animal hospital, he likes to spend time with his wife Trisha, whom he married August of 2016 and his canine companions, Alex,  Joey, and Xavier. A fond lover of nature and wildlife, he can be found with his buddies at the dog park, or fishing, or camping.  He has saved many squirrels, geese, snakes, rabbits, frogs and owls and brought them to the Wildlife Center for rehabilitation.

  • Jessica - Receptionist / Veterinary Technician

          Jessica joined our caring staff in May 2018 as a receptionist. The Addison Animal Hospital is her first job in the veterinary field. She has had a long love of animals starting at a young age. When she was little, she would watch over the chickens, goats, sheep, horses and ducks that lived on her family's farm in Capron. 

          Currently she is studying biology at Loyola University in Chicago. Once she receives her undergraduate degree, she plans on attending veterinary school at the University of Illinois, with hopes of becoming a large animal veterinarian. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and her 9 year-old Goldendoodle Gus. She also enjoys helping take care of her uncle's polo ponies and helping him during the polo season.
